Serves as primary provider of ongoing gynecological care for nearly 3,000 patient visits a year.
1. Gynecological
a. Conduct physical exams including heart, lung and thyroid.
b. Demonstrates breast exams and teach self-breast exam techniques of all patients.
c. Perform speculum exams, bi-manual pelvic exams and Pap smears.
d. Prepare wet preps of Vaginitis.
e. Take STD cultures
f. Diagnose and treat minor medical problems.
g. Perform office procedures including
* Cryosurgery
* Endometrial biopsies
* Polypectomies
* Vulvar biopsies
h. Provide birth control consulatoin, including initiating most appropriate method for patient, adjusting for problems and maintaining selected method. Experienced in prescribing oral birth control, fitting diaphrams , inserting IUDs and inserting Norplant.
i. Offer in-depth menopausal counseling, and limited counseling for sexuality issues and infertility.
